Linger on the sidewalk …

where the neon lights are pretty … an early Friday evening as the offices empty and before the nightlife starts, this particular sidewalk is on Church Street in Toronto.  I’ve said before that cities are not my preferred place to be – I’ve travelled and purposefully avoided cities altogether, except for the in and out at the airport.  But … I’m beginning to see the lure of city photography. I took my camera on a recent short excursion to Toronto in hopes of capturing something.

Jake’s Sunday Post this week is: City

    1. I can’t even imagine – we talk about visiting cities in Asia, G has always wanted to go – it might not be so bad for us … we are both tall (6 ft and +) and would be looking above the crowds – might be less claustrophobic 🙂

    1. HaHa – hope it doesn’t play too long, over and over and over – Abba does that to me, sometimes it’s weeks before i can get one of their songs out of my head.

  2. I love this shot it says so much… those words were a song from yesteryear, can’t think of the group or the rest of the song but I’m humming it in my head right now…

    1. When you’re alone and life is making you lonely
You can always go – downtown
When you’ve got worries, all the noise and the hurry
Seems to help, I know – downtown
Just listen to the music of the traffic in the city
Linger on the sidewalk where the neon signs are pretty
      How can you lose?

… now do you know the singer? …. Petula Clark 😉

  3. And you did capture something quite wonderful. I am more a country person than a city person, but I think cities offer wonderful photo opportunities.
