Visual Quotation 77/Buffeted

“The rain to the wind said,
You push and I’ll pelt.’
They so smote the garden bed
That the flowers actually knelt,
And lay lodged–though not dead.
I know how the flowers felt.”
― Robert Frost

  1. Absolutely stunning, Lynne! The poem says it so beautifully and the image… matchless. It’s raining here today and I feel sorry for the flowers, but the ground is lapping it up. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Jo. We’ve had far too much rain here, floods are just receding and people looking at starting over. Happily I was unaffected but horrible for those that were.
