Stricken

Some of you already know that I recently lost my husband.  These last months have been filled with a range of emotions as I struggle through my grief.  Working in my garden and on my photographs seem to be two things that totally occupy my mind providing a bit of respite from trying to come to terms with, and redefine, my life. Combining my current state with these two pastimes has produced this series.

  1. I had to search back here in order to catch up and I’m so very sorry to learn that you lost your husband. Photography and just the act of creating has saved me many times. I don’t know what I’d do without it. All my sympathy, big hugs to you.

    1. Lynne, I am terribly sorry for your loss. Your photos are beautiful, even more so knowing that they symbolize your feelings. Working in the garden can indeed be healing and photography can offer you a way to express your inner self. Of course you cannot put the petals back in place and make the flower whole again, but I am glad you have found some solace in these activities. I sincerely hope that in this way you will be able to come to grips with your loss and to find a new way of living your life.
