On the road south of Drumkeeran in County Leitrim, Ireland there is a rest and picnic area overlooking the village.  This is where I found this statue, The Rookery, by Irish sculptor, Don Cronin, one of the best known Irish sculptors.DSCN9488 Drumkeeran Leitrim sl 8x6

Drumkeeran is a small village of 298 people where the R200 and R280 meet near Lough Allen.  The rest area provides views towards the hills in the distance . . .DSCN9486 Drumkeeran Leitrim sl crop 8x6
