On the way from Carcassonne, where we had spent the day, to our apartment in St. Andre we diverted to Lagrasse, which is included in the list of Les plus beaux villages de France. Not to be confused with Grasse, Lagrasse is 19 mi southeast of Carcassonne in the valley of the River Orbieu. It is nestled in among the foot hills of the Pyrenees that are part of the Corbières wine region.
Beautiful. Looks like a painting.

Much photographed spot too – if you google Lagrasse that’s the image you will see. I didn’t realize that at the time of course, but it’s an obvious vantage point of a beautiful scene. Thanks, Tina.

Great shot and a feeling of olden days and oil painting.

An absolutely perfectly composed picture well worthy of much praise of your expertise. Very impressive painting from the old world of true artists. The very best, congratulations

I did want this to have a painterly look so I thank you, very much, for your kind words.

Hi Lynne, I was awestruck by this picture. Like many of your other posts, I feel, experience a sense of intrigue in the history of the sites you have photographed. Thanks a bunch for sharing them.
