Working from the original image as shown below, I inverted it, and then used the undo brush to bring most of ithe foreground back up. What I left is showing as a sort of wispy mist. I also added just a touch of a soft focus.

Inverting the image? Very cool! I’ve never tried that before, but love the effect and, as you say, the “city-lit” sky 🙂 Thanks so much, Lynne, for participating. It’s always fun to see what you come up with!

I love it! The mist is beautiful and gives it a mysterious quality. Just working off what Ben said, the mist on the ground could possible be less dense, but if he hadn’t said anything I never would have noticed. Great job!

Yeah, the mist thing is an experiment, more fog actually, London fog, or London smog 🙂 Thanks for the input Emilio.

Oh my goodness, I went to look at the others and there are so many to see that its confusing. Interesting though to be able to make so many different images. You, of course always do a great job!

It is interesting to see how each comes up with something different, even when the approach is similar. And thank you 🙂

I really like the effect in the sky that is nice. I am not sure about the wisps of mist so much. Nice editing and an interesting approach to the image.

This was actually my first try at the mist, the landscape being the second. I thought the sky looked like it was lit by the city lights. Thanks for the input, Ben.
