I know many of us feel that there is a surfeit of awards out there, and they keep circulating, but getting my first blogging award made me suddenly feel like part of the blogging community. I have to admit I have not always passed on the awards although I have always thanked the presenter because, whether I pass them on or not, they still give me a secret boost.
Well surfeit or not, there seems to be a new one – Blogger of the Year 2012 award, and it comes with an extra hook – see below. My virtual friend, Arnel, always so supportive, has dubbed me one her Bloggers of the Year – a little thrill there to be thought of that way. So thank you, Arnel, and readers – go over to All Things Boys – you’ll find a variety of topics, all written with humour and humility and something more than the usual – her recent posts on Paris are an example.
As I’ve said before, I entered this supportive(addicting), entertaining(time-devouring) creative world of blogging with great trepidation, mostly because I didn’t have any idea what I would actually blog about. But now 10 months in I am thoroughly enjoying the friendships and the creative experience.
Now I am to:
1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award, and
2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.
Every time I go to Via Lucis I am enthralled by the photos of Dennis Aubrey and PJ – they chronicle the great churches and cathedrals of Europe. I really admire their work.
When I go to visit Robin Coyle I know I will smile. Robin is a writer who shares of her knowledge in the most engaging and humourous style – another one I consider a virtual friend.
When it feels time for a break, a cuppa or a glassa, I go visit Carol, over at Wanderings of an Illusive Mind. Visiting her blog is like taking a coffee break with a close friend.
Meredith is currently very busy packing up her life in Sri Lanka. She’s a world traveller who shares of her stories in beautifully written prose. She lives at The Wanderlust Gene.
Heidi and her family are learning to be more of a “Use it up, wear it out, make do or do without” kind of household and she shares freely of her methods and recipes – not just for food but for pampering things like bath soaks too. I enjoy her humour. You should visit her at Lightly Crunchy.
3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/ and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)
4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them
5 You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience
6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…
Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!
Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!
When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star! – available at the link in bullet #3.
There are a total of 6 stars to collect.
Which means that you can check out your favourite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!
Congratulations!!! Gold stars abound! Thanks for visiting my post as well. It’s been seven months for me, and I agree with you. It is addicting!!

Between putting together a book and blogging, I’ve pretty much been sitting here at my computer for the last 10 months. My husband always knows where to find me at least 😉

haha I haven’t gotten to the book part yet. But I will!!! I can’t seem to pull myself away from the blogging site even long enough to put a few words down on my word processing program. All my words end up floating aimlessly around the WP world!!!

What I have found though is that the blogging has improved my writing – at least I think so 😉 You might be interested in checking out Robin Coyle‘s site – helpful writing tips offered up with humour.

I really must put the series all in one place on my blog. Maybe a project for today?
