Travel Theme: Curves

Architectural detail of the Mausoleum of Mohammed V.
The Mausoleum is in Rabat, Morocco.

I leave you with one of my paintings.ย  This is done in ink in the pointillist style, composed entirely of dots.

Ailsa’s Travel Theme this week is Curves. There are a lot of stunning examples you can view on her site.ย  Here are some I enjoyed:

Mostly Monochrome
Ohm Sweet Ohm
Stephen Kelly Creative
Ron Mayhew Photography
Rewild the West
City Life Picture
East of Malaga

  1. Without doubt, some of the world’s most beautiful works of art in architecture are to be found within Islamic culture. Your pointillist style painting is very impressive. I have an understanding of how long it can take to create such a work. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you, Ross. There definitely is a distinctive style to many of the mosques and tombs, like filigree lace work – it’s very intriguing, and beautiful, in my mind, for that type of structure.

  2. Thank you SO MUCH for linking to my blog!! *Following* yours now. Nice Curves of your own–I especially admire the painting, I LOVE pointillism, and I can’t believe you did that yourself!!!

  3. Lovely curves, Lynne. The arch in the Mausoleum in Rabat looks very similar to the ones found in the Alhambra Palace in Granada, but with the Moorish influence in Spain, I guess thatยดs not very surprising.

Thanks for the pingback BTW ๐Ÿ™‚
